Radisson appoints Stuart Birkwood as cluster general manager in Dubai

UAE – Radisson Hotel Group has announced that Stuart Birkwood has been appointed as the Cluster General Manager (GM) for Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Media City and Park Inn by Radisson, Dubai Motor City.

Birkwood will oversee the operations of these two key hotels in Dubai, which offer a combined total of 400 rooms, several award-winning dining options, and cutting-edge event facilities.

The properties are known for hosting large-scale events and catering functions, making them prominent players in the Dubai hospitality scene.

With over 30 years of experience in the global hospitality sector, Birkwood has a wealth of expertise in managing hotel operations and improving guest experiences.

He has previously held leadership roles at several leading international hotel brands, including Aloft, Sheraton, and Le Meridien.

His most notable achievement was leading the introduction of the Radisson RED brand to the Middle East in 2019, where he served as GM of the Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis.

During his time there, Birkwood led several innovative initiatives, including the creation of the first standalone podcast studio in a Radisson hotel and the achievement of the “Great Place to Work” certification for the property.

Continued expansion of Radisson Hotel Group

Radisson Hotel Group continues to expand its global footprint in 2024. The group has signed over 130 new properties internationally in the first half of the year.

Noteworthy openings include the Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort in Kolasin, Montenegro, and the Radisson RED Vientiane in Laos.

Radisson has also expanded into new markets with the introduction of the Radisson Collection and Radisson RED brands.

The group’s growth strategy also saw the signing of new properties in key markets such as the United Kingdom, India, and China. In addition, Radisson strengthened its presence in Saudi Arabia with the signing of the Radisson Collection Residences in Riyadh.

Radisson Hotel Group’s ongoing expansion demonstrates its commitment to growing its global portfolio and offering a diverse range of options to travelers across the world.
