SAUDI ARABIA – Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority’s Board of Directors, has revealed that Riyadh Season 2024 has set a new milestone, attracting 10 million visitors within just two months of its launch.
The fifth edition of Riyadh Season, one of the largest entertainment events globally, officially launched on October 12.
This year’s season saw an impressive influx of visitors from around the world, with thousands of events organized to appeal to all age groups and preferences.
These events included concerts, art exhibitions, theatrical performances, and diverse entertainment activities. Highlights included the Dior exhibition and various events in the Boulevard City zone, while Al-Suwaidi Park experienced an unprecedented turnout.
Riyadh Season features 14 entertainment zones, 11 world championships, and 10 festivals and exhibitions, spanning an impressive 7.2 million square meters.
With the record-breaking arrival of 10 million visitors, the season solidifies its global standing as a premier entertainment destination.
The events offered include boxing matches, wrestling, tennis, concerts, unique dining experiences, and exclusive entertainment experiences, providing visitors with an unparalleled experience.
The season operates five primary zones: Boulevard World, Kingdom Arena, Boulevard City, The Venue, and Al Suwaidi Park.
A standout event during the first month took place at Kingdom Arena, where Artur Beterbiev defeated Dmitry Bivol in an electrifying boxing match to become the undisputed light heavyweight champion.
Riyadh Season also received significant recognition at the Effie Awards Festival, winning the gold award for its 5V5 campaign, developed in partnership with BigTime Creative Shop.
Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), expressed his gratitude on social media, attributing the win to the Saudi people and emphasizing that “the future is stronger and better.”
The Effie Awards, recognized as one of the most prestigious accolades in the marketing industry, honor the full range of marketing efforts, from creation to execution and impact.
With a history spanning over 50 years, the awards celebrate successful campaigns and foster discussions on effective marketing strategies.
Today, the Effie Awards are held in over 50 programs across 125 markets worldwide, including regions such as Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America.
