UK – London-based wholesale supplier Woods Foodservice has revealed plans to expand its product range for its restaurant and foodservice clients ahead of Christmas 2024.
The company has announced partnerships with eight new suppliers to enhance its premium offerings and meet the growing demand for high-end menu items, especially during the Christmas season.
The expanded selection includes products like charcuterie, smoked salmon, and smoked meats, alongside regeneratively farmed flour, which aligns with the increasing focus on sustainable agriculture.
Woods has carefully selected these products to meet the high standards of customers seeking top-quality ingredients.
Darren Labbett, Managing Director of Woods, stated, “By partnering with suppliers who share our values, we can support foodservice operators in delivering exceptional dining experiences while promoting sustainability throughout the Christmas season and beyond.”
The new offerings include renowned brands such as Italian deli Levoni, Spanish charcuterie expert Beher, Devon-based The Real Cure, Wildfarmed’s flour, Rodda’s Cornish clotted cream, and Severn & Wye’s smoked salmon and canapés.
Additionally, Marco Pierre White’s Farmhouse Cuisine will supply smoked meats and fish, further expanding Woods’ product range.
Lana Bhikha, Co-Managing Director of Woods, shared, “This year, we anticipate a significant rise in demand as our clientele, including high-end restaurants, gastropubs, hotels, and event caterers, prepare for an influx of Christmas events.”
The company forecasts a 30% year-on-year growth in sales for December 2024.
Sustainability remains a key focus for Woods. In November, the company revealed the expansion of its fleet with fully electric vehicles, underscoring its commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
The new fleet features tri-zone temperature control to ensure optimal product quality during transport.
All delivery vans meet Euro 6 emissions standards, reducing harmful emissions, while the vehicles’ bodies are constructed from recycled materials, and solar panels on the roofs minimize charging energy needs.
With multi-temperature storage compartments, including chilled, ambient, and frozen, these vans enhance delivery efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
By the end of FY 2025, Woods plans to replace its entire Euro 6 fleet with electric vehicles, including seven new lorries to be added post-Christmas.
