EGYPT – Cairo, Egypt, is gearing up to welcome global leaders in the exhibition industry as the city hosts the 2025 UFI Middle East and Africa (MEA) Conference.
Scheduled from April 28 to 30 at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center, the event promises to foster collaboration and innovation across the region and beyond.
Following a successful 2024 conference in Kigali, Rwanda, which attracted professionals from over 15 countries, Cairo’s selection highlights the city’s growing influence in the global exhibition industry.
General Sherif El Mawardy, Chairman of the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA), expressed his gratitude, stating, “This recognition showcases Egypt’s active and expanding role in the global exhibition sector.”
He also noted that Egypt’s involvement in the industry dates back to 1851 and includes hosting its first International Agricultural Exhibition in 1900.
The EECA aims to capitalize on Cairo’s strategic location, advanced facilities, and skilled workforce to make the conference a landmark event.
“With our diverse economy, government incentives, and thriving tourism sector, Egypt stands out as a premier destination for investors in the exhibition industry,” El Mawardy added.
Said Al Shanfari, UFI MEA Chapter Chair and CEO of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, emphasized the importance of the event, saying, “The UFI MEA Conference is a vital platform for connecting industry players and exploring collaborations that can shape the future of our sector.”
He highlighted the growing interest in North African markets and urged professionals to seize the opportunities this event will offer.
The conference will feature engaging sessions on pressing topics, including the impact of Artificial Intelligence, sustainability, and the growth of emerging markets. These discussions aim to address the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the exhibition industry.
Naji El Haddad, UFI Regional Director MEA, expressed excitement about the event’s potential to drive growth. “Egypt continues to see remarkable expansion in trade shows and exhibitions, making it a key player in the region,” he said.
El Haddad extended gratitude to the EECA for hosting and supporting the event, which will strengthen regional ties and promote best practices.
The 2024 UFI MEA Conference in Kigali set a high standard with its thought-provoking sessions, networking opportunities, and social activities. Discussions centered on Artificial Intelligence, sustainability, and diversity, offering valuable insights for attendees.
The event also showcased Kigali’s rich cultural heritage through post-conference tours, leaving participants with lasting memories.
As Cairo prepares to host the 2025 conference, it aims to build on Kigali’s achievements and further advance the exhibition industry in the Middle East and Africa.
