Franchise India, WOW Burger ink partnership to expand brand into India

INDIA – Asia’s largest franchising solutions provider Franchise India has announced a strategic partnership with Asia’s first vertically integrated high-protein vegetarian fast casual brand, WOW burger to expand the brand into India.

This collaboration aims to introduce WOW Burger’s protein-rich vegetarian menu to the Indian retail and hospitality markets, responding to the increasing demand for nutritious and healthy dining options.

Known for its high-protein vegetarian burgers, WOW Burger targets health-conscious consumers with a menu that balances taste and nutritional value, catering to a growing trend of healthier eating.

In its home market, WOW Burger has achieved impressive results, selling over 20,000 burgers within its first nine months.

During its pilot phase, the brand saw a 55% increase in sales, reaching HKD 250,000 (US$32,167) in monthly revenue.

Building on this success, WOW Burger plans to expand into key Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, with further plans for growth in Tier I and Tier II cities.

Through its partnership with Franchise India, WOW Burger aims to establish over 100 outlets across the country in the next five years, positioning itself as a key player in India’s fast-food and hospitality industry.

This decision is also supported by the growing potential of the Indian vegetarian restaurant market.

According to Coherent Market Insights, the Indian vegan food market was valued at US$ 1.372 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach US$ 2.756 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.1% from 2023 to 2030.

Gaurav Marya, Chairman of Franchise India, noted, “India is seeing a shift in how consumers approach food, with a growing interest in high-protein diets, especially among younger, health-focused audiences. WOW Burger’s offerings perfectly meet this demand, combining taste, health, and convenience.”

“This partnership is about empowering consumers to make smarter dining choices.”

Sunil Datwani, Co-Founder of WOW Burger, shared, “Our mission at WOW Burger has always been to offer meals that are both satisfying and nutritionally balanced. Our high-protein vegetarian burgers are designed to deliver exceptional flavor and health benefits.”

“With India’s strong vegetarian culture and rising interest in health-conscious food, this partnership with Franchise India presents an exciting opportunity to bring our vision to life.”
