Oman’s tourism ministry seeks tourism boost with new representative office in Singapore

OMAN – The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has announced it is looking to establish a representative office in Singapore, a strategic move meant to establish Oman as a premier travel destination in the Southeast Asian market.

Oman is taking steps to boost its presence as a top tourist destination, enhance trade relationships, and attract more regional visitors.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has issued a tender for selecting a representative firm to support Oman’s marketing efforts.

The appointed firm will play a key role in executing the country’s marketing strategy, which includes fostering business relationships, raising awareness of Oman’s diverse offerings, and positioning the country as a prime destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

The selected firm will focus on building co-marketing partnerships with international trade players, educating industry stakeholders on Oman’s unique attractions, and increasing the country’s visibility in trade programs.

MHT aims to foster collaboration between the Omani and Southeast Asian tourism sectors, expanding offerings and reaching new markets.

A major element of the strategy involves media relations, targeting journalists, influencers, bloggers, and vloggers to generate coverage across digital, print, and broadcast platforms.

The firm will highlight Oman’s MICE potential and address any tourism-related issues affecting its image in these markets.

Additionally, the appointed firm will work closely with MHT’s global communication agency to ensure consistent brand messaging and marketing initiatives. Regular reporting on activities and results will be required to align with Oman’s annual tourism strategy.

Companies interested in the tender are invited to submit proposals that detail their approach to business development, trade marketing, and media relations.

Evaluation will focus on the firm’s ability to deliver measurable results and expand Oman’s reach in the competitive Southeast Asian tourism market.

This initiative aligns with Oman’s broader strategy to collaborate with other nations in the tourism sector.

In line with this, a recent delegation from Qatar visited Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Port on November 27-28.

The visit, organized by MHT, included representatives from Qatar Tourism, the Ministry of Interior, and maritime and customs authorities, focusing on enhancing the cruise tourism sector.

Discussions centered on operational improvements, including immigration, customs, and terminal logistics, with both nations aiming to strengthen ties and drive sustainable growth in the cruise industry.
