Hilton expands footprint in Egypt with ambitious growth plan

EGYPT – Hilton has announced plans to triple its presence in Egypt, unveiling a comprehensive development strategy that includes 25 new hotels across the country.

This bold move will bring the company’s total number of properties in Egypt to 40, marking significant growth in one of its longest-standing markets.

“Egypt has been at the core of our operations for over 60 years,” said Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Vice President for Development in the Middle East and Africa. “Our new developments allow us to continue building on this legacy while offering our guests reliable and enriching experiences.”

As part of its expansion, Hilton will introduce its lifestyle brands, the Curio Collection and Tapestry Collection, to Egypt for the first time.

These hotels aim to reflect the unique character of their locations, providing guests with immersive cultural experiences.

Among the flagship projects is the Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi, set to open in early 2025, offering modern amenities and iconic views of the Nile River.

In Cairo, several other projects are in the pipeline. These include the Hilton Cairo Historic City, located in the UNESCO-listed Magra El Oyoun area, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Cairo Downtown, scheduled for completion by 2028.

Hilton Cairo Suez Road, positioned for accessibility to business districts and the airport, will cater to corporate travelers.

Hilton is also strengthening its presence in Egypt’s key resort destinations. In Sharm El Sheikh, the Curio Collection by Hilton is set to open by 2027, featuring unique designs and personalized guest experiences.

In Marsa Alam, Hilton plans two properties: the eco-focused Abu Dabbab Lodge and the Curio Collection by Hilton. These additions will cater to travelers seeking premium offerings while supporting the local tourism economy.

Hilton’s expansion in Egypt is expected to create over 5,000 new jobs, demonstrating the company’s commitment to supporting local communities.

To complement this growth, Hilton has partnered with academic institutions to launch a hospitality school. This initiative aims to equip the next generation with skills and training for careers in the industry.

Hilton’s efforts in Egypt are part of a broader African expansion strategy. Recently, the company opened the Hilton Brazzaville Les Tours Jumelles in the Republic of the Congo.

The hotel, now the tallest building in the country, features luxury accommodations, cultural highlights like the Art Sans Frontière gallery, and state-of-the-art facilities for business travelers.
