Saudia Group, Riyadh Season 2024 partner to launch “BLVD Runway” zone

SAUDI ARABIA – Saudia Group has teamed up with Riyadh Season 2024 to launch the “BLVD Runway” zone, inspired by an airport runway, where three Saudia Boeing 777 aircraft have been transformed to offer a unique setting for entertainment, shopping, dining, and interactive experiences, now open to visitors.

H.E. Advisor Turki Alalsheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, received a symbolic key to the aircraft from H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, marking the official launch of the new aviation zone.

This two-month event spans 140,000 square meters and features 13 retail stores, 13 interactive experiences, and five restaurants.

A 12-day spectacle unfolded as three aircraft were transported overland from Jeddah to Riyadh, generating significant social media buzz.

Led by H.E. Turki Alalsheikh, the journey was celebrated in each city along the route with welcoming ceremonies, highlighting the Kingdom’s advancements in logistics.

The event was extensively documented and widely covered across various media platforms.

H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar expressed pride in being part of this historic moment, underscoring Saudia Group’s role in Riyadh Season 2024 as a platinum and official airline partner.

“The season has grown year after year, becoming one of the most anticipated entertainment events, under the direct supervision of H.E. Turki Alalsheikh,” he noted. This collaboration further aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

The launch event featured presentations from Saudia Technic, detailing the stages of dismantling, transporting, and reassembling the aircraft—two of which were retired in 2016 and the third in 2018.

The process was completed in record time, showcasing the efficiency and skill involved.

Additionally, flight attendants shared stories from the aircraft’s 19-year operational history, including the number of flights and destinations served.

Saudia Ground Services (SGS) ensured a seamless guest experience within the zone, managing travel procedures and offering opportunities for visitors to explore the aircraft stairs.
