ETHIOPIA – Leading hospitality chain developer and operator Haile Hotels & Resorts Group has announced the completion of its 10th property in Jimma.
Haile Resort Jimma, the 10th destination under the Haile Hotels & Resorts Group, officially opened on January 2 after nearly two years of construction.
The resort, designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers, offered a comprehensive range of facilities and services. It featured 108 guest rooms, multiple restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, a spa, and a gym.
Additionally, the resort included five meeting halls with capacities ranging from 30 to 500 guests, along with high-speed internet access throughout the property.
During the pre-opening phase, the resort created employment opportunities for over 200 local residents, with plans to establish up to 400 permanent jobs once fully operational.
General Manager Tesfaye Asrat highlighted the group’s dedication to quality hospitality services through consistent training and capacity-building initiatives, aiming to meet the expectations of both domestic and international guests.
The opening of Haile Resort Jimma marked another milestone in Haile Hotels & Resorts Group’s strategic expansion across Ethiopia.
This development was anticipated to boost tourism in Jimma and contribute to regional economic growth while maintaining the group’s reputation for excellence in hospitality.
The launch aligned with the company’s long-term goal of securing a dominant presence in Ethiopia’s hospitality sector.
Previously, in June 2022, the group inaugurated its eighth property, Haile Resort – Arba Minch, in Arba Minch, Ethiopia. The Arba Minch resort featured scenic views of the Rift Valley lakes and the Gamo Gofa mountain chain, including Mountain Gugie, Ethiopia’s third-highest peak.
The facilities encompassed four meeting venues with a capacity of up to 600 delegates and five restaurants serving both local and international cuisine.
Guests were also offered complimentary access to outdoor and indoor playgrounds, a swimming pool, and a health club equipped with a dry sauna, steam bath, and gym. Wi-Fi was available throughout the resort.
Located just eight minutes from Arba Minch Airport and 510 km from Addis Ababa, the four-star resort offered a seamless blend of luxury and accessibility.
Owned by Ethiopian long-distance running legend Haile Gebrselassie, Haile Hotels & Resorts aimed to expand its portfolio to 20 properties in the coming years, reinforcing its position as a leader in Ethiopia’s hospitality landscape.
