SOMALIA – Leading hospitality management company Rotana has announced plans to launch Rotana Mogadishu, the first luxury hotel in the country.
A major new development in Mogadishu, in collaboration with Riverside Holding, is set to raise the bar for hospitality in the region.
Scheduled for completion in 2026, the five-star Mogadishu Rotana is expected to become a key player in the city’s evolving urban landscape.
Mogadishu Rotana will offer 321 luxurious accommodations, including 261 guest rooms and 60 serviced apartments.
Designed to blend modern elegance with local cultural influences, the hotel aims to deliver an exceptional experience for its guests. Among its extensive amenities are a state-of-the-art fitness center, a spa, various dining options, large event spaces, and high-end retail outlets.
Strategically located near Aden Adde International Airport, Mogadishu Rotana will be a central element of a broader initiative to transform the Somali capital into a vibrant urban hub.
The surrounding area will undergo significant development, including the construction of a convention center, hospital, shopping mall, residential neighborhoods, business parks, and schools.
This ambitious project aims to position Mogadishu as a dynamic and thriving destination for both business and leisure.
Aleph Hospitality, a renowned independent hospitality management company based in Dubai, will operate the hotel.
With a strong track record of managing properties across Africa and the Middle East, Aleph Hospitality’s experienced management team will ensure that Mogadishu Rotana offers world-class service.
The hotel marks a significant milestone for Rotana, becoming the brand’s 118th property. Rotana is actively expanding in Africa, with notable projects like the Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana in Dakar, Senegal, scheduled to open in 2026.
Additional luxury developments are also underway in Accra, Cotonou, Cairo, and Luxor.
Rotana currently operates 81 hotels across the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Türkiye, solidifying its position as a global hospitality leader.
With a robust pipeline of upcoming projects and serving over six million guests annually, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence and innovation.
The launch of Mogadishu Rotana aligns with Rotana’s vision of driving growth and transformation in emerging markets.
Combining luxury, innovation, and cultural authenticity, the hotel is poised to become a symbol of progress in Somalia’s hospitality industry. This development is part of a larger urban renewal plan designed to make the capital a thriving urban destination.
