Second phase of Al Mamzar Beach project begins

UAESheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE has awarded contracts for the second phase of the Al Mamzar Beach Development Project meant to boost the hospitality sector, marking the start of the phase of the project.

The completion of both phases of the Al Mamzar Corniche Beach project is expected by the end of 2025, with the total cost projected at AED 400 million (US$108.9 million).

The initiative aims to enhance beach infrastructure with innovative designs that seamlessly connect the creek and the corniche, establishing a new beach tourism destination.

The project will meet international standards while focusing on sustainability and addressing future climate change concerns. It intends to redefine global beach design by providing integrated beaches with state-of-the-art recreational, sports, and commercial facilities.

These improvements will align with the highest specifications, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a global tourism leader.

The project underscores the city’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life and well-being for all. Spanning 125,000 square meters and extending 80 meters across, Al Mamzar Corniche Beach will include a dedicated public beach for women.

Ensuring privacy and safety, the facility will feature a secure gated entrance and fencing. The women’s beach will support night swimming and offer tailored amenities such as a sports club, commercial services, and children’s play areas.

The public beach will also feature 1,000 meters of running, walking, and cycling paths connecting Al Mamzar Creek Beach and Al Mamzar Park.

This innovative design, the first of its kind in the region, merges beach paths with park areas, providing a unique, multifaceted experience for visitors.

The development will also include green spaces designed with high-quality aesthetic landscaping. Key facilities will comprise a 5,000-square-meter area for seasonal events, a 2,000-square-meter skateboarding area, play areas for children, restrooms, and beach lounges.

Dubai Municipality will equip the corniche with essential health and wellness facilities, such as toilets, changing rooms, showers, and services for people of determination. An administrative building will house a control room and first aid center.

Smart technologies, including AI-powered surveillance systems, drowning rescue technologies, crowd management tools, and smart luggage lockers, will be integrated to enhance the visitor experience.
