USA – Multinational fast food restaurant franchise Subway has announced its new Meal of the Day deal in the United States, which aims at providing customers with a variety of freshly prepared meal options at a competitive price.
Subway has introduced a promotional meal deal featuring a six-inch sub priced at US$6.99 or a footlong sub at US$9.99, both accompanied by a choice of two cookies or a bag of chips and a small fountain drink.
Prices under this promotion were higher in Alaska and California due to the former’s geographical isolation and the latter’s $20 sectoral minimum wage for fast-food workers.
Previously, Subway had launched a $6.99 meal deal for all its “chef-curated” six-inch subs.
However, the offer was discontinued in late November and replaced with a digital promotion. The current deal featured a rotating selection of popular subs, offering variety and value through its ‘Meal of the Day’ lineup.
The daily schedule included: Monday’s Cold Cut Combo, Tuesday’s Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki, Wednesday’s Meatball Marinara, Thursday’s Baja Chipotle Chicken, Friday’s Tuna, Saturday’s Ultimate B.M.T., and Sunday’s Philly.
Additionally, Subway introduced the Baja Bliss Collection, featuring two new subs infused with Baja Chipotle sauce.
These subs, available with chicken or freshly sliced turkey, were served on Artisan Italian Bread with fresh vegetables, SubKrunch, and finished with the signature sauce. The limited-time collection aimed to offer a distinctive flavor experience.
Complementing the Baja Bliss subs, Subway reintroduced Miss Vickie’s Baja Chipotle potato chips, designed to pair seamlessly with the Baja Chipotle sauce.
Both the subs and chips were offered exclusively at Subway outlets for a limited period.
Doug Fry, President of Subway North America, highlighted the significance of the new offerings, stating that the Meal of the Day underscored Subway’s focus on quality, variety, and affordability.
He emphasized that the initiative made it easier for customers to enjoy satisfying meals, whether on the go or during moments of relaxation.
Subway’s ongoing transformation, initiated under former CEO John Chidsey, focused on revamping its menu.
The process began with the 2021 ‘Eat Fresh Refresh’ campaign, followed by the launch and expansion of the Subway Series in 2022 and 2023. The chain also diversified its snack options, introducing footlong churros, cookies, and pretzels to cater to varying dining preferences at accessible price points.
