UAE – State-owned luxury hotel chain Jumeirah has appointed Thomas B. Meier as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
As Chief Executive Officer, Meier will oversee Jumeirah’s ambitious plans to double its portfolio by 2030, focusing on global expansion and strengthening its standing as a leader in luxury hospitality.
His leadership will drive the brand’s commitment to setting industry benchmarks and enhancing guest experiences rooted in culture and connection.
With extensive industry experience in the hospitality sector, Thomas B. Meier has played a key role in guiding Jumeirah Group through significant milestones and is now set to lead the brand’s sustainable growth under its Mission 2030 strategy.
Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer since October 2021 and most recently as Interim CEO, Meier steps into this role at a critical juncture for the brand.
In 2024, he led Jumeirah’s expansion into Africa with the launch of Jumeirah Thanda Island in Tanzania and Jumeirah Thanda Safari in South Africa. He also bolstered the leadership team through several senior appointments and prepared for additional property launches.
Meier’s distinguished career includes overseeing operations and global expansion for esteemed brands such as Raffles.
The new CEO expressed confidence in Jumeirah’s ability to continue setting new standards in luxury hospitality. He highlighted the upcoming opening of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab and ongoing market expansions as part of the brand’s growth strategy.
Meier emphasized that Jumeirah’s bold ambitions would drive continuous innovation, ensuring the brand stays ahead of industry trends and exceeds the evolving expectations of discerning guests.
His vision aims to establish Jumeirah as one of the world’s most influential hospitality brands.
Supporting its global expansion strategy, Jumeirah recently introduced several prominent properties, including two landmark destinations in Africa, Jumeirah Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in the UAE, and Jumeirah Le Richemond Geneva in Switzerland.
Currently, Jumeirah operates 30 properties across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
The brand actively seeks ownership and management opportunities in major gateway cities and resort destinations worldwide, reinforcing its leadership in the global luxury hospitality sector.
