SAUDI ARABIA – Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority’s Board of Directors, has revealed that Riyadh Season 2024 has crossed a new milestone, welcoming 16 million visitors in the past three months.
The Chief of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) stated that the 16 million visitors mark serves as strong evidence of the significant influx of both local and international visitors to the Riyadh Season.
He remarked on his X account, “Today, we have reached 16 million visitors, and the best is yet to come.”
This number highlights the diverse nature of the season’s events, including the recent opening of new zones that have drawn attention from global visitors.
The 16 million visitor milestone affirms the exceptional success of the Riyadh Season, which offers a comprehensive experience with a wide variety of events such as boxing, wrestling, international concerts, unique dining experiences, and beautiful gardens, as well as innovative entertainment across newly introduced zones.
The season has attracted a global audience, with thousands of events, including art exhibitions, theater performances, and activities that appeal to all age groups.
Notable events included the Dior exhibition and various activities in the Boulevard City zone, while Al-Suwaidi Park saw an unprecedented number of visitors.
Riyadh Season comprises 14 entertainment zones, 11 world championships, and 10 festivals and exhibitions, covering a vast 7.2 million square meters.
The events range from boxing matches and wrestling to tennis tournaments, concerts, and exclusive dining and entertainment experiences, offering visitors an unmatched experience.
The season operates across five main zones: Boulevard World, Kingdom Arena, Boulevard City, The Venue, and Al-Suwaidi Park.
A highlight of the first month was the electrifying boxing match at Kingdom Arena, where Artur Beterbiev triumphed over Dmitry Bivol to become the undisputed light heavyweight champion.
Riyadh Season also earned recognition at the Effie Awards Festival, receiving a gold award for its 5V5 campaign, created in collaboration with BigTime Creative Shop.
The “Dunes of Arabia” zone, which opened in December, attracted winter and camping enthusiasts, while the “Boulevard Runway” zone saw large crowds of aviation enthusiasts.
The surge in visitor numbers was largely due to the mid-semester break, which provided a perfect opportunity to explore the season’s events, especially amid the capital’s pleasant weather. The fifth edition of Riyadh Season officially began on October 12.
