MAURITIUS – The Lux Collective, a luxury hotel operator from Mauritius, has revealed expansion plans to open new properties in emerging markets across China, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia starting in 2025.
The Lux Collective is making exciting strides with the expansion of its SALT brand, marking its first properties outside Mauritius.
SALT of Anji in China will debut in 2025, offering 108 rooms and villas designed by renowned South African architect Peter Rich.
The nature-inspired resort will focus on sustainability and blend seamlessly into the region’s natural surroundings, featuring themed restaurants, a spa, and an outdoor pool.
Following Anji, the brand will expand with SALT of Mount Siguniang in 2027, located in a Tibetan village near the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mount Siguniang National Park in Sichuan.
The LUX* brand is also broadening its footprint, with new openings in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
In Sharjah, UAE, LUX* will introduce two properties in the last quarter of 2025. LUX* Al Jabal will be a boutique-style resort with 45 rooms, offering stunning views of the Gulf of Oman, a private beach, fine dining, and a LUX* ME Spa.
Meanwhile, LUX* Al Bridi will feature 35 safari-style tented retreats nestled in the desert, designed to blend with the surrounding landscape. Both resorts will emphasize luxury and sustainability, aligning with the brand’s commitment to preserving the region’s natural beauty.
In Southeast Asia, LUX* plans to open LUXNAM* Phu Quoc in Vietnam in mid-2026, located in the Kien Giang Biosphere Reserve.
The 116-villa resort, including overwater villas and beachfront residences, will feature minimalist design and locally crafted materials with panoramic views.
Additionally, LUX* has entered a strategic partnership to open LUX* Xinii Mababe in Botswana, offering an immersive safari experience in the Mababe region, home to diverse wildlife.
The resort will comprise 26 minimalist lodges inspired by iconic African trees and incorporate sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting, inspired by the local Hambukushu tribes.
These expansion initiatives reflect The Lux Collective’s response to the increasing demand for luxury travel that offers both high-end experiences and deeper connections to nature and culture, as travelers seek more meaningful destinations.
