EMEA – Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to expand across Europe, Africa, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), entering 13 new markets between 2025 and 2028 to strengthen its presence and diversify its portfolio.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is intensifying its expansion across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EMEA) with plans to enter new markets such as Estonia, Iceland, Romania, Cape Verde, and Mauritius.
These developments are part of a broader strategy to open 50 luxury and lifestyle hotels worldwide by 2026, which includes high-profile properties like Park Hyatt Johannesburg, Miraval The Red Sea, Andaz Doha, and Andaz Lisbon.
The announcement follows a successful year for Hyatt in the EMEA region, as revealed in the brand’s Q3 2024 earnings report.
Hyatt’s European hotels posted impressive results, including a 12.1% increase in Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR), a 5.8% rise in Average Daily Rate (ADR), and a 3.8% growth in occupancy rates.
Hyatt’s resort segment also saw notable growth, particularly with its Inclusive Collection properties in sought-after destinations like Spain, Greece, Portugal, and Bulgaria, leading to a more than 14% surge in Net Package RevPAR.
This success has further solidified Hyatt’s leadership in the all-inclusive hospitality sector.
These plans highlight Hyatt’s commitment to catering to the increasing demand for luxury accommodations in emerging and underserved markets.
By leveraging its strengths in operational excellence and guest satisfaction, Hyatt is reinforcing its position as a global leader in the luxury and lifestyle hotel space.
“Since 2017, we’ve strategically expanded our portfolio by nearly 90%, reaching over 1,350 properties. It’s exciting to see the EAME region add hotels in key markets that matter most to our guests, World of Hyatt members, and investors,” said Mark Hoplamazian, President and CEO of Hyatt.
“Our accelerated expansion reflects our commitment to luxury, lifestyle, and all-inclusive hospitality, and we look forward to a bright future across EAME,” he added.
As of September 30, 2024, Hyatt’s EMEA portfolio includes over 200 properties with more than 45,000 rooms in 40+ countries.
Since 2017, Hyatt has tripled its room count in Europe, further establishing itself as a leader in hospitality innovation and growth.
