Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, AirOWater Global launch Northern Emirate’s first air-to-water bottling plant

UAE – Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel has partnered with AirOWater Global to launch the region’s first sustainable water bottling plant that extracts 100% water from air, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel has taken a significant step towards sustainability with the installation of an advanced bottling plant that produces drinking water directly from atmospheric moisture.

Generating 365,000 liters annually, this innovative “100% water-from-air” system completely eliminates the reliance on plastic bottles, offering an eco-friendly alternative for the hotel’s water needs.

Guests across all areas, including rooms, restaurants, the beach, and poolside lounges, benefit from this sustainable initiative, ensuring a seamless and environmentally responsible hospitality experience.

By producing its own drinking water and removing an equivalent number of plastic bottles, the hotel achieves an annual carbon footprint reduction of 33.58 metric tons of CO₂.

Additionally, this initiative minimizes plastic manufacturing, reduces transportation emissions, and decreases landfill waste, aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero Vision.

Beyond ensuring a sustainable water supply, the project promotes the reusability of glass bottles and the recycling of broken glass.

The replacement of single-use plastic bottles with durable, reusable alternatives significantly reduces environmental impact while supporting a circular economy.

This commitment underscores Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel’s leadership in sustainability within the UAE hospitality sector.

Recognized as a pioneer in eco-friendly hospitality in the Northern Emirates, the hotel showcases how luxury and environmental responsibility can coexist.

By implementing forward-thinking solutions that prioritize sustainability, Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel serves as an industry benchmark for properties looking to support the UAE’s sustainability goals.

The launch event was attended by important players in the hospitality sector, including His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Department of Tourism Development, and His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Ahmed Alsayed Alhashmi, Director General of Ajman Department of Tourism Development.

Also present were His Excellency Sheikh Salem Bin Faisal Al Qassimi and His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Faisal Al Qassimi, Vice Chairmen of Faisal Holding LLC.

Iftikhar Hamdani, Area General Manager of Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, expressed pride in leading the initiative, highlighting its role in eliminating plastic waste and utilizing an untapped water source.

He emphasized that this project could inspire other hotels to adopt similar sustainability measures.

Shubhojit Mahalanobis, Co-Founder and Partner at AirOWater Global, praised the hotel’s commitment to sustainability, stating that the water-from-air technology and reusable glass bottle model have helped the property go plastic-free while strengthening its ESG credentials.

He also expressed optimism about further collaboration in the Northern Emirates.
