Cairo House partners with Marriott to transform Mogamma El-Tahrir into Autograph Collection Hotel

EGYPT – Cairo House Real Estate, in collaboration with Tourism Investment SAE and Marriott International, is set to convert the historic Mogamma El-Tahrir into an Autograph Collection Hotel.

This milestone represents a key advancement in the Consortium’s vision to transform the iconic building into a premier hotel and world-class destination.

The project aligns with The Sovereign Fund of Egypt’s (TSFE) broader mission to rejuvenate downtown Cairo, positioning Mogamma El-Tahrir as a focal point for future investments.

The redevelopment will be spearheaded by an international consortium of developers and investors, including Global Ventures Group, Oxford Capital Group, Al Otaiba Investments, and Zoser Capital Partners.

Randall Langer, Chairperson of Global Ventures Group, underscored the importance of the partnership, stating, “We deeply appreciate the Marriott alliance, TSFE’s strong backing, and the dedication of the many team members working to bring this vision to life.”

The upcoming Autograph Collection Hotel will feature 500 guestrooms and serviced apartments, offering a variety of dining and entertainment options.

The plans also include a rooftop swimming pool overlooking Tahrir Square, providing sweeping views of the Nile and the distant Giza Pyramids.

In addition, the property will boast extensive meeting and event spaces, including a ballroom, an outdoor pavilion, a fitness center, and a spa.

Located in one of Cairo’s most dynamic districts, the hotel will be surrounded by embassies, government institutions, and financial hubs.

The project aligns with TSFE’s broader objective of transforming the capital’s core into a thriving business, tourism, and residential hub.

The redevelopment of Mogamma El-Tahrir is expected to drive further investment into downtown Cairo while reinforcing Egypt’s commitment to strengthening its tourism industry.

Shady Hassan, Vice President of Development – North Africa at Marriott International, highlighted the company’s commitment to the Egyptian market.

We have maintained a strong presence in Egypt and are dedicated to expanding our portfolio while supporting the country’s growing tourism sector,” Hassan said.

Autograph Collection showcases distinct properties that emphasize individuality, and we look forward to working with the Consortium and TSFE to bring this unique vision to Cairo,” the VP added.

Autograph Collection’s global portfolio consists of over 300 hotels, each crafted to embody the passion and vision of its founder, delivering a distinctive and memorable experience for guests.
