Hilton expands in Ethiopia with DoubleTree Hotels in Adama, Dire Dawa

ETHIOPIA – Hilton has inked an agreement with Brighton Hotels and Business Plc to introduce DoubleTree by Hilton in Adama and Dire Dawa, the first internationally branded hotels in these cities, supporting its expansion strategy in Ethiopia, where it now operates eight properties.

Hilton’s vice president for development in the Middle East and Africa, Carlos Khneisser, expressed excitement about partnering with Brighton Hotels and Business Plc to open two hotels in Ethiopia.

He reported that the new hotels in Adama and Dire Dawa will strengthen Hilton’s presence in the country.

He added that these hotels will complement the soon-to-open DoubleTree by Hilton Addis Ababa Airport and the already operating Hilton Addis Ababa. He further stated that Hilton looks forward to growing in Ethiopia and offering reliable, friendly stays for both business and leisure guests.

DoubleTree by Hilton Adama is strategically located on the main road to Addis Ababa. It is near the Adama Science and Technology University and the Oromia Regional State Council.

The hotel features 188 guest rooms and suites with unobstructed mountain views of the Rift Valley. Guests can enjoy various food and drink venues, including a lobby café, a signature restaurant, a terrace, a pool bar, and a grill.

The hotel also includes a ballroom, six meeting rooms, a business centre, a spa, a fitness centre, and an outdoor pool with a deck.

DoubleTree by Hilton Dire Dawa is located in Ethiopia’s second largest city. Dire Dawa is a key industrial and commercial hub and serves as the gateway to Harar Jugol, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The hotel is near the city’s new government offices and industrial zones, with Dire Dawa International Airport less than ten minutes away. It offers 150 guest rooms and suites along with a lobby café, a signature restaurant, a terrace, and a pool bar and grill.

The property also features a spa, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool with a deck, six meeting rooms, a ballroom, and a business centre.

Yadeta Bekri, founder of Brighton Hotels and Business Plc, expressed delight at partnering with Hilton.

He said that both hotels will offer spacious accommodations, modern amenities, and elevated food and drink options for travelers and the local community. He added that he looks forward to welcoming guests in the coming years.
