GLOBAL – SoundHound AI, a leader in voice AI solutions, has upgraded its Dynamic Drive-Thru platform for restaurants by integrating omnichannel ordering capabilities.
The advanced voice AI-driven platform has been introduced to transform the Dynamic Drive-Thru solution by significantly improving accuracy and speed.
The upgraded system expands restaurant automation by incorporating call-to-order, text-to-order, scan-to-order, and in-car voice ordering capabilities, providing customers with a seamless, omnichannel experience.
Innovative Features and Revenue Boost
A key innovation is the Polaris multilingual speech recognition model, which is designed to reduce employee workload while increasing order throughput.
The platform further maximizes revenue through AI-powered upselling features and delivers real-time data and voice insights to enhance every customer interaction.
Additionally, smart lane technology enables pre-ordering, which reduces wait times and streamlines the ordering process, ensuring that customers receive their orders promptly.
Adoption by Industry Leaders
SoundHound AI’s chief product officer, James Hom, stated, “AI in restaurants is no longer optional—it’s the new standard.
Our advanced platform offers restaurants the flexibility to integrate automation at every customer touchpoint.
With over two decades of AI expertise, we have developed a comprehensive solution that works seamlessly across all ordering channels.”
In December 2024, US fast-casual chain Torchy’s Tacos implemented SoundHound’s voice AI smart ordering system at all 130 of its locations.
The system is engineered to understand and process a wide range of customer orders, including detailed customizations, and to handle incoming phone orders, manage multiple calls simultaneously, and address queries regarding the menu, store hours, and allergen information.
Operational Efficiency and Future Outlook
A recent SoundHound consumer study shows that US diners increasingly expect AI voice assistants to handle most food ordering tasks.
Already deployed in over 10,000 restaurant locations and having processed more than 100 million interactions, this technology is redefining customer service and operational efficiency in the foodservice sector.
Torchy’s Tacos CTO Thai Tran commented that the system not only ensures orders are accurate and timely but also allows staff to focus on food preparation and in-store customer service, ultimately elevating the overall guest experience.
