Omegro acquires South African hospitality software firm Spa Guru

SOUTH AFRICA – Omegro, a company owned by Volaris Group, has acquired South African hospitality software provider Spa Guru for an undisclosed amount.

Spa Guru, known for its innovative software designed specifically for spas, salons, and hotels will operate under Micros South Africa, part of Adapt IT’s hospitality division.

This strategic acquisition is set to enhance the company’s ability to streamline business operations, ranging from appointments and bookings to marketing and billing, for its more than 260 clients across 33 countries.

Spa Guru’s trusted solutions, favored by leading hospitality brands, have helped it achieve strong market penetration in South Africa.

Under the new arrangement, Spa Guru’s established suite of digital tools will be integrated into Micros South Africa’s broader portfolio of hospitality software.

Reginald Sibeko, Managing Director of Micros South Africa, conveyed that the company is excited about providing a permanent home for Spa Guru’s global clientele.

He emphasized that with the enhanced resources and commitment to innovation that Micros South Africa brings to the table, the overall experience for both clients and their customers is expected to be elevated significantly.

Sibeko explained that this acquisition bolsters their hospitality software ecosystem, offering innovative solutions, superior technological support, and a streamlined service experience, all of which are crucial in today’s competitive market.

Gary Halberstadt, Founder and Director of Spa Guru, expressed enthusiasm about the next phase for the company, noting that joining Micros South Africa marks a promising new chapter.

He highlighted that the acquisition was driven by a goal of long-term sustainability and growth, with the combined industry expertise and technical capabilities of Micros and its partner Omegro positioning the business for continued success.

Halberstadt also expressed confidence that becoming part of a larger portfolio would help ensure that Spa Guru’s solutions remain trusted and competitive both locally and internationally.

He mentioned that the move would provide a secure and permanent home for their employees while laying a strong foundation for ongoing client growth.
