Sabre Hospitality launches SynXis Pay, expanding payment options for travelers

GLOBAL – Sabre Hospitality, a division of Sabre Corporation, has launched SynXis Pay, a versatile solution that supports over 250 payment methods, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, and WeChat Pay, to deliver flexible checkout options for travelers and hoteliers on hotel websites.

The new solution has a suite of integrations into the SynXis Booking Engine, enabling an express checkout experience when guests select Apple Pay or Google Pay.

These integrations form only one facet of the broader SynXis Pay solution, which is designed to simplify the management of multiple payment types for hotels.

The platform’s orchestration layer, powered by CellPoint Digital, the industry leader in payment orchestration, optimizes global payment acceptance by seamlessly linking to various gateways and dynamically activating the most suitable payment methods based on the guest’s location.

In partnership with other payment providers in the ecosystem, hotels can now customize payouts in local currencies by converting funds from the guest’s preferred currency, thereby minimizing foreign exchange exposure and easing the reconciliation process.

The enhanced checkout experience has also contributed to improved conversion rates.

Juan Abello, Vice President of Product Management at Sabre Hospitality, explained that his team is dedicated to solving complex travel challenges in ways that benefit both customers and travelers.

He mentioned that SynXis Pay is a prime example of this mission, offering flexibility and personalization to travelers while streamlining payment output and payout processes for hoteliers.

Abello added that there had long been a demand on both sides of hospitality transactions for more efficient payment processes, and he described the new system as the very definition of a win-win scenario.

The technology is already in use among hotel clients. For instance, Europe’s prominent health spa hotel brand Ensana has partnered with Sabre Hospitality, a division of the global travel technology company Sabre, to enhance its wellness hospitality offerings.

Under a multi-year agreement, Ensana will utilize the SynXis Retailing platform to offer rewards for spa treatments, wellness packages, and other amenities.

In addition, SynXis will support Ensana in optimizing its distribution, retailing, and integration with property and revenue management systems.

The comprehensive agreement also includes solutions such as the SynXis Booking Engine, Corporate Booking Tool, and GDS distribution, all aimed at streamlining operations, increasing bookings, and driving revenue growth.

The Corporate Booking Tool, in particular, provides an efficient system for managing direct corporate bookings to serve key business segments.
