UAE – JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, the world’s tallest five-star hotel, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointments of Karin Cohen as Multi-Property Director of Marketing, Liliane Vargas as Director of Recreation & Lifestyle, and Elie George Zgheib as Director of Events Planning & Operations.

JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai strengthens its commitment to innovation, guest-centric service, and operational excellence with the appointments of Cohen, Vargas, and Zgheib.

Their expertise will further enhance the hotel’s reputation for luxury hospitality and world-class events.

Karin Cohen – Multi-Property Director of Marketing

An award-winning marketing strategist, Karin Cohen brings nearly 20 years of experience in hospitality marketing, branding, and communications across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the USA.

She will lead marketing for JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites, Al Maha Desert Resort, and Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, overseeing brand positioning, digital strategy, PR, and guest engagement.

Previously, she managed marketing for Marriott Al Jaddaf and was named on the Marketing Power List 2024 by Hotelier Middle East.

Cohen has launched 13 F&B concepts, collaborating with Michelin-starred chefs, leading designers, and top bartenders.

She was Global Brand Director for celebrity chef David Myers, leading concept launches in Doha, New Delhi, Abu Dhabi, and Miami.

Originally from Sweden, Cohen has lived in Spain, the UK, Seychelles, and Dubai since 2011.

Liliane Vargas – Director of Recreation & Lifestyle

A leader in wellness and fitness, Liliane Vargas has over 20 years of global experience in multi-site operations, guest engagement, and innovative programming.

She will enhance JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai’s wellness, fitness, and recreational offerings, introducing world-class experiences tailored to guest needs.

Previously, she was Head of Group Exercise & Regional Fitness Manager at Fitness First Middle East and held leadership roles at FitnGlam, Taimly Fitness Oman, and Pilot Fitness China.

Elie George Zgheib – Director of Events Planning & Operations

A seasoned expert in luxury event planning, Elie George Zgheib brings over 20 years of experience in corporate and social events.

He will oversee event planning and execution, ensuring seamless operations.

Previously, Zgheib was Director of Sales – Groups & Events at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah and held leadership roles at Le Royal Méridien Doha, One&Only Royal Mirage, and The Ritz-Carlton DIFC.
