The results placed Rotana above 95% of companies using the same engagement tool, underscoring the company’s strong workplace culture.
UAE – Rotana, a leading hotel management company with 79 properties across MENAT, has strengthened its reputation as a top employer, ranking in the top 5% of the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure sector in Workday Peakon’s latest survey of over 433,000 employees.
Rotana Hotels has achieved outstanding employee engagement results, with over 97% of its workforce across hotels, global sales offices, and its Abu Dhabi head office participating in the latest Workday Peakon survey.
The results placed Rotana above 95% of companies using the same engagement tool, underscoring the company’s strong workplace culture.
Philip Barnes, CEO of Rotana, attributed this success to the company’s people-first philosophy, emphasizing that Rotana’s culture is built around prioritizing employees.
He highlighted the validation of the team’s passion and commitment to fostering an exceptional working environment.
As part of its employee-focused strategy, Rotana conducts the annual ‘Engaged to LIFE’ survey in partnership with Workday Peakon, providing a platform for staff to share feedback that shapes workplace policies.
By prioritizing engagement and wellness, the company continues to strengthen its workforce, enhance productivity, and attract top talent.
A report by Quantum Workplace indicates that engaged employees are twice as likely to remain with a company for at least two years, reinforcing Rotana’s approach as a key factor in its success.
Currently, Rotana operates 79 hotels across the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Türkiye, welcoming more than six million guests annually.
Its development pipeline features 7,381 keys spanning six brands, including 32 international properties and three new hotels in the UAE.
The company’s people-first strategy has contributed to its strong performance over the past year.
In October 2024, Rotana announced ambitious expansion plans at the Future Hospitality Summit World (FHS), outlining the development of 43 new properties in 26 cities across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Türkiye by 2026.
These additions will bring 9,049 new rooms, increasing Rotana’s total inventory to 30,225 keys.
Recent openings include Beach Bay Hotel – Mirfa, the first Edge by Rotana property in Abu Dhabi, and Nova M Hotel Olaya Riyadh, the first Edge by Rotana in Saudi Arabia.
Launched in 2022, Edge by Rotana now has seven operational properties, with six more in development across the MENAT region.
Looking ahead, Rotana plans further expansion, particularly in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where tourism continues to grow.
The upcoming Bloom Arjaan by Rotana on Saadiyat Island and Yasmina Rayhaan by Rotana in Riyadh, set to open in 2025, reinforce the company’s goal to triple its room count in Saudi Arabia to 6,000 over the next three years.
