JW Marriott Hotel Muscat becomes first in Oman to install automated water bottling plant

OMAN – JW Marriott Hotel Muscat has raised the bar for sustainable hospitality by becoming the first hotel in Oman to implement a fully automated water bottling plant.

Partnering with Lucerne Waters, a pioneer in sustainable water solutions, JW Marriott Hotel Muscat has introduced an advanced bottling system aimed at boosting efficiency, purity, and environmental responsibility in the hospitality industry.

The automated system streamlines the entire process from purification to packaging, minimizing human contact while maintaining top hygiene and precision standards.

The water undergoes a rigorous seven-stage filtration process, including UV treatment, ozonation, reverse osmosis, and mineral enrichment, ensuring superior purity and taste.

Additionally, a six-stage bottle sterilization process, reinforced by a UV tunnel, enhances hygiene, while precision printing of batch and expiry dates strengthens quality control and traceability.

Beyond enhancing guest experience, the initiative significantly advances sustainability efforts. By eliminating approximately 730,000 plastic bottles annually, the hotel prevents an estimated 19,700 kilograms of plastic waste and cuts CO₂ emissions by 49,250 kilograms per year.

Through this initiative, JW Marriott Hotel Muscat establishes itself as a leader in sustainable luxury, offering a responsible and refined approach to hydration while reducing environmental impact.
