Pret A Manger expands in India with new dine-in outlet in Pune

The brand’s latest addition is a 989ft² full-service store at Phoenix Mall of the Millennium, offering a dine-in experience with its signature handcrafted food.

INDIA – Food and coffee chain Pret A Manger has opened a new dine-in location in Pune, Maharashtra, further strengthening its presence in the Indian market.

The brand’s latest addition is a 989ft² full-service store at Phoenix Mall of the Millennium, offering a dine-in experience with its signature handcrafted food.

CEO Pano Christou noted that India has reimagined Pret in an unprecedented way, attributing the introduction of the brand’s first full-service concept to the country’s strong dining culture.

He emphasized Pret’s commitment to blending global flavors with local tastes while preserving its signature experience.

The brand has rapidly expanded in India, establishing outlets in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi-NCR.

Pret A Manger, which originated in London in 1986, now operates nearly 700 locations worldwide, including in Belgium, Dubai, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.

In June 2022, the brand partnered with Reliance Brands Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, to develop its presence in India. This collaboration led to the opening of the first Indian store in Mumbai in April 2023.

As part of its global expansion strategy, Pret A Manger partnered with YOOBIC, a digital workplace solutions provider, in September 2024.

The partnership involves deploying YOOBIC’s suite of tools across 525 Pret locations in 15 international markets.

YOOBIC’s platform digitizes Pret’s standard operating procedures, creating a centralized hub for frontline teams to access essential information via mobile devices.

The system enhances operational efficiency by keeping employees informed about new procedures and promotions while facilitating task management.

The platform’s digital task management feature streamlines daily operations, including routine checks and the implementation of new initiatives.

With real-time visibility, shop and regional managers can monitor tasks, ensure best practices are upheld, and promptly address issues. An alert system further ensures that urgent tasks receive immediate attention across all locations.

YOOBIC’s tools also reinforce Pret’s commitment to hygiene, health and safety, and environmental standards. Employees currently manage 65,000 monthly tasks using the platform, with comprehensive tracking of completion rates, follow-up actions, and compliance metrics.

This structured approach strengthens Pret’s foundation for future growth.
