UAE – Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl has appointed Alex Pichel as its new General Manager.

With extensive experience managing luxury hotels worldwide, Pichel’s expertise will elevate the property, enhancing guest experiences and ushering in a new era of exceptional service and sophistication.

Alex Pichel began his career in hospitality in 1988 as a bellboy at the Bristol Hotel Kempinski.

Over the years, he has cultivated his skills through various roles, advancing into leadership positions at luxury hotel brands such as Fairmont, Rosewood, Rocco Forte Hotels, and Kempinski.

His most recent role was at NUO Hotels in Beijing. Reflecting on his return to Hyatt, Pichel shared that rejoining the brand felt like “coming home.”

He values the strong professional relationships he has built throughout his career, particularly with mentors like Michael Gray, who guided him during his early years at Hyatt Carlton Tower in London.

Now General Manager of Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl, Pichel brings with him years of international experience and a passion for elevating guest experiences.

“Hospitality is about teamwork and shared vision,” he says, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in delivering exceptional service.

His goal for the hotel is to set a new standard for what luxury should look like in 2025.

Outside of his professional life, Alex is a family man, divemaster, pet parent, and avid adventurer, all of which align with his belief in creating unforgettable moments.

His approach to leadership reflects these values, focusing on a personalized guest experience that exceeds expectations.
